Everest Marathon - The Highest Marathon in the world

Everest marathon is one of the highest marathons in the world held in 1985 by Jan Tuner. It’s also well known as Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon. This is an international high altitude adventure sports platform, especially for many adventurers’ seekers who wish to make a record in new kind of challenge while running in the alpine zone of Himalayas region. Everest marathon celebrates the day of historical ascent to the highest mountain in the world Mt.Everest which was climbed by two legendary Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Edmund Hillary on 29^th 1953.

The Everest marathon distance is about 42 km in the whole circle. Basically, Everest Marathon begins from Everest base camp at the height of 5364 m above the sea level. The world’s highest marathon in the snow-covered foothills of Mount Everest is literally an amazing and breathtaking adventure sport that creates a something very special moments for every single participate who presents it in from all over the world.
The Tenzing Hillary Marathon has begun in 2003, eventually; this marathon has 2 different categories which are made for Half Everest Marathon and Full Everest Marathon. The half marathon is about 21Km whole which starts from Dingbuche and follows the mostly same track of Everest base camp trekking trail and for the full Everest Marathon kicked off the race at 7 am by local time from Everest base camp (5364m/ 17,598ft) and it’s an exciting run through the spectacular landscape and Sherpa villages and finishing line about 2,000m below in the town of Namche Bazaar (3,450m/11,315ft) the runner should be running all the way down to Namche Bazar to celebrate the winning trophy.

We would encourage foreign athletes and local to be acclimatized at high altitude in Everest region about 2 weeks prior to the grand final of the Event.
